I was dreaming about meeting Maxime Simoëns, but who knows why, I wouldn't dare to contact him. Until the day when I was lucky enough to meet his very sweet press agent, Tomek Kolarski, and told him about the concept of "Dressed by ..." which he loved.
Maxime Simoëns likes girls with just chat you need of exuberance. With character but sensitive. On the screen, his heart wanders between Kirsten Dunst and Mélanie Laurent. Within cinema myths, he keeps a privilege place for the legendary Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
His collections are always inspired by the silver screen, by a character, an icon, an atmosphere, a particular aesthetic. After Louise Brooks for his first collection, Coco Chanel the movie last winter, for newt summer, Maxime is reinterpreting The Virgin Suicides by Spfia Coppola. Always evocation, tribute and subtility.
The first look that Maxime Simoëns chooses for me is from the winter collection. The pattern shapes by the beads is a butterfly wing. Paradoxically, the result is very feline ... Groarrrr!
I like the dress so much that I quietly try to run away, taking a the nicest items from the winter collection away with me, including a perfect pair of black trousers.
The way it moves is divine.
But Maxime runs faster than I do ! He catches me and with no hard feelings prepares another look from next summer collection this time.
I'm feeling so good in this outfit that I'm jumping for joy, and Maxime too, delighted.
The very chic style of the dress is broken by the tee, more casual. This look is very night girl-like - perfect for you, says Maxime - I really don't know what you're implying, Maxime.
I think that I exhausted him, right in the middle of the preparation for the new collection !
The dresses are divine, cuts perfect, each detail has been well-thought, movements are not impeded, the figure is outlined, thank you Maxime and I think that for once we should change the name of the column by : Sublimated by ... Maxime Simoëns.
